4 years as General Director and Factory Director of GEA do Brasil, the Brazilian branch of the heat exchanger division of the German GEA Group, an outstanding leader in engineering and manufacturing of all types of heat exchangers for the oil and gas industries, power generation and many more industrial applications.
10 years as President of the Brazilian subsidiary of the medium-sized German VULKAN Group including responsibility for the manufacturing plant, sales responsibility for the 3 different divisions (marine, industry and air conditioning & refrigeration) in the entire Latin America region, including Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean and South America as well as responsibility for the product development department and the industrial business development in sub-Sahara Africa and Australia.

I was born on July 21, 1957 in the forest village of Ramsen in the Palatinate. When I was 12 years old, I moved with my mother and my two siblings to the city of Mannheim and graduated from high school there.
I have my three adult children Christine, Alexander and Florian, who are living in Germany, from my first marriage there, our son Gabriel, who lives and studies in São Paulo, and the adult son Geywison of my wife from her first marriage, who lives and Works in Guarulhos and who is like an own son to me since my marriage with Selma at the end of 2003.

On behalf of the then leading global manufacturer of packaging technologies for the pharmaceutical and food industries, I assumed full management responsibility at the Fabrima factory site as Interim General Manager and managed the M&A process from inception to successful completion, including the transfer of the factory to the new owner, in close cooperation with my customers in Germany.
Due to an emergency situation within the global heat exchanger division of the German GEA Group, I was appointed Interim Managing Director of the Brazilian subsidiary GEA do Brasil in Franco da Rocha, Sao Paulo, and in recognition of the high level of satisfaction with my performance, I was hired firmly in this role after just a few weeks.
Scope of responsibility: restructuring of the plant, optimizing of the management team, negotiating and renegotiating major contracts and projects with key customers of GEA do Brasil in the Brazilian oil and gas industry.
As a result of the urgently required replacement of the then Brazilian managing director by the German VULKAN headquarters and with the approval of the GEA headquarters in Germany, I initially worked for both companies for 4 months as permanent managing director of GEA do Brasil and as interim managing director of VULKAN do Brasil, before I left the GEA Group – by mutual agreement with both companies – and moved to VULKAN as permanent managing director of VULKAN do Brasil.
Scope of tasks: Complete restructuring, setting up a new management team, LEAN transformation of the plant, expansion of sales in Latin America and setting up a product development department, digital and cultural transformation of VULKAN do Brasil.

As Managing Director of well-known, technology and market-leading German companies in Spain, Mexico and Brazil, I understood early on how important it is to be well networked at local, regional and international level and that, as “number 1” in my company, I have the responsibility to actively represent and promote the companies I am responsible for to their respective target audiences – employees and their families, customers, suppliers, service providers, competitors, “the public” and “the society” in general. I have been very active in the German industrial and business communities for many years, but also on the social and cultural “stages” – as a result of my various tasks – in many countries around the world and I represent the companies I work for there with great commitment and an enormously positive response.
As part of these activities, I have been a member of the boards of professional and industrial associations for many years, particularly in Brazil, such as the German foreign chambers of commerce (AHKs), the German engineers association (VDI) and the German association of machinery and equipment manufacturers (VDMA), but also in national business and industry associations and institutions.
That’s why I rightly see myself as a pioneer in the areas of social media, influencing and ESG. After all, these are all topics that have fascinated me for a long time and that I firmly believe are crucial for successful leadership and generating sustainable success for companies.
